OHV Lead Control Engineer develops practical and innovative ways to identify and meet goals. OHV Lead Control Engineer is responsible for work that is less defined in scope and has the understanding and experience to execute business objectives. This role has the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals.
Executes the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product/program requirements.
Provides technical leadership to personnel supporting the assigned project. Responsible for system specification, system validation, product performance measurement, and component selection.
Documents technical data generated by the assigned project consistent with engineering policies and procedures. Responsible for development within Design For Six Sigma processes and ISO Compliance processes.
Provides timely communications on significant issues or developments.
Participate on teams assigned to address organizational initiatives and generic issues.
Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews.
Responsible for working with a team of Electrical, Mechanical, and Software Engineers in development efforts.
Position requires frequent interfacing with organizations including Engine OEM, Truck OEM, Software Engineering, COE's (Center of Excellence), Field Service and Customers.
Responsible for conducting Formal Verification & Validation of designs in Lab, Haul Truck, and Field Environments.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.
Minimum of 3+ years of experience in an engineering position.

Desired
Advanced technical degree.
Experience with electrical propulsion system controls: AC/DC power electronics, AC/DC motors, and alternators.
Experience with locomotive, transit and OHV applications.
Quality training (ISO, CMM), Greenbelt or Blackbelt certification preferred.
Experience with embedded control system development, Matlab, Matrix X, simulation and code generation tools.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
PC proficiency.
