DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Develops and maintains account relationships, both credit and non-credit. 2. Develops primary customer and prospect lists within assigned territory for the purposes of marketing a broad range of bank services. Actively participates in cross sales programs. 3. Prepares and presents for approval credit analysis on all borrowing requests. 4. Negotiates terms and conditions within assigned parameters. 5. Ensures timely and through monitoring of all credits through periodic reviews, continual analysis, and proper documentation. 6. Possesses the ability to remedy deficiencies when appropriate. 7. Market loan portfolio of $1-3 million. 8. Assures all banking compliance standards are met and attends required training. 9. Obtains job enhancement courses once per year. 10. Performs other duties as assigned. ENVIRONMENTAL / PHYSICAL / MENTAL REQUIREMENTS The Commercial Loan Officer performs the major portion of his/her job outside the bank, marketing Viking Community Bank and meeting with customers by communicating verbally in person and over the telephone. He/she must be able to move freely around the facilities. He/she must possess the ability to accurately read and inspect for errors. He/she must be able to verbally communicate with clarity. This position must possess full use of both hands and have excellent close vision. QUALIFICATIONS * Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required. * Knowledge of Bank's services required. * Experience working with credit required. * Portfolio management experience required. * Proven skills in organizing, working with details, and meeting deadlines required. * Self starter, ability to produce results required. * Marketing and business development skills required. * Proficiency working with computers and computer generated information and financial data required. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.
