This position will be 2nd or 3rd Shift for a new depot being established. John Deere Parts Distribution Center is seeking a Supervisor to achieve depot goals and objectives by providing supervision to production, maintenance and/or warehouse employees. In this position, you will: Manage employees storing and picking parts. Provide work direction consistent with depot operations goals, customer expectations and carrier deadlines to the production employees. Be the first-line liaison between the production employees and the management staff, and thus also serve the function of representing the company's interests with the shop floor staff. Education Degree in a Business/Management discipline or equivalent experience. Degree in a Supply Management discipline or equivalent experience. Required Skills and Experience Must be willing/able to work 2nd or 3rd shift. Understanding of Deere Production System, Just-in-Time. Knowledge of general accounting in support of establishing and managing departmental operating budgets. Desired Skills and Experience Manufacturing and/or operations experience. Experience with shop floor manufacturing, incentive pay systems such as CIPP (Continuous Improvement Pay Plan) and work measurement. Experience in budgeting, forecasting and scheduling. Understanding of employee policies, practices, procedures and work rules. Knowledge of distribution processes, quality, total preventative maintenance and facilities. Demonstrated team leadership and mentoring experience. Experience in use of statistical tools and techniques for quality management. Experience with Production Control systems, preferably within John Deere.
