Mobile is hot, hot, hot with smartphones being the fast growing segment out of the 1.2 Billion phones shipped each year. Are you strategic thinker with a passion for cool consumer gadgets and experiences? Do you believe smart phones are going to be used by more people around the globe than any other personal technology? If so, this is the job for you. We are looking for a strategic leader to lead product management for today's and future versions of Windows Mobile. You should have broad product management abilities, a passion to win and the desire to create Microsoft's next great business. Your strategic responsibilities include: o Owning product management for Windows Mobile including positioning, pricing, packaging and licensing and public communications activities. o Driving the strategy for how we go after new market opportunities with mobile operators and handset makers through creative and strategic thinking. You will create new business models that dramatically grow the Windows Mobile business. o Building end customer, mobile operator and handset OEM value propositions that demonstrate why Windows Mobile is the best choice for their smartphone selection. o Building and leading a team of senior product marketing professionals and instilling a sense of destiny in them. o Be able to present to and evangelize senior leaders within Microsoft and partner companies of our strategy and our value proposition. o Working closely with other Mobile Communications Marketing Teams, Product Planning and Engineering to achieve the above. This position requires strong strategic thinking skills as well as the ability to create powerful messaging for a wide variety of audiences. Role also requires exceptionally strong communication and writing skills. The ability to translate technological concepts into easy to understand messages is crucial. The ideal candidate should be a self-starter who can manage multiple projects simultaneously and drive them to completion effectively. Qualifications include a minimum of 15 years technology marketing experience. An Engineering degree or Business degree with a concentration in Business Management, Finance, or Marketing is ideal; MBA preferred. Experience in the mobile phone market is also a plus, but is not necessary. Some travel required.
