Responsibilities:
Enforces procedural rules and regulations. Ensures the personal safety of staff, visitors, patients and property of MIBH. Maintains security and safety to assigned areas. Maintains working knowledge of the locations of various departments, buildings, access routes and admitting requirements
Enforces parking and policy procedural rules and regulations. Ensures parking is provided for patients, visitors and staff through effective enforcement of applicable standards
Responds to and investigates situations reported to the Security Office regarding theft, vandalism, damage to vehicles, drug diversions and missing persons

Minimum Qualifications
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent. Must hold a NYS Security Guard License or be eligible to obtain licensing within 90 days of hire date
2 years of general experience in security, law enforcement or military experience
Must be able to demonstrate ability to effectively manage disruptive or combatant patients within the first 90 days of hire
Must have basic understanding or working knowledge with various access control systems and devices
Valid NYS Security Guard License
Valid NYS Drivers License
First Aid/CPR/AED certifications and/or ability to obtain within 120 days of hire
Ongoing possibility of safety risks
Must be able to work in all types of weather conditions while responding to or performing security operations on all shifts
Work regularly requires sustained concentration
Prolonged/extensive sitting, standing, walking, climbing and lifting up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to be trained and fit tested to wear respiratory equipment
