Job Title Medical Technologist - OSS Category Regional Health Centers Site Oneonta Specialty Services Status FT Shift Varies Description Full time, Mon-Fri (12-8:30p) w/ weekend on-call (9a-5p) Full time, Mon-Fri (7:30a-4p) w/ weekend on-call (9a-5p) Responsibilities: Performs and verifies (reports) laboratory tests and/or prepares products for transfusion on acceptable specimens to obtain accurate data in accordance with established procedures and protocols and in a timely manner Performs quality control (QC) and proficiency testing (PT) as assigned Maintains laboratory equipment, instruments, reagents and/or supplies required in performance of job responsibilities Direct, review and/or verify work of other clinical laboratory personnel and/or students as assigned by a Technical Specialist/Charge Person or Supervisor Any Medical Technologist meeting the NYSDOH qualifications of supervisor (part 59 of 10 NYCR, section 1.4) may be required to perform supervisory functions in the absence of the regular supervisor Minimum Qualifications Requirements: Bachelors degree in Medical Technology from an accredited medical technology program (preferred), Biology or Chemistry accepted Must be qualified as a Medical Technologist in accordance with NYSDOH regulations Must have 6yrs post bachelors experience as a Medical Technologist GRADE 47 SP For more information, contact Human Resources at 607-547-3120
