thePlatform, a subsidiary of Comcast, is looking for a multi-talented New York based Sales Engineer to facilitate sales into the Media & Entertainment, Mobile and Enterprise markets. thePlatform is an industry-leading provider of digital media publishing solutions. thePlatform is headquartered in Seattle and was founded in 2000. The company's flagship product, thePlatform Media Publishing System (MPS), is the industry's most comprehensive solution for media & entertainment, mobile and enterprise customers. With MPS, customers can publish digital media anywhere - over any network, to any device. Custom feature enhancements and seamless systems integration are simple using the Web services-based MPS SDK. This position requires a strong background in web application development and architecture. Candidates will have some programming experience which would enable them to grasp the extensive MPS SDK that custom solutions are built upon. Additionally, candidates will have the ability to present this architecture to technical and non-technical personnel. Ideal candidates will also be intimately familiar with mobile technology and services including network protocols and current mobile formats and codecs. Responsibilities: * Develop an in-depth knowledge of the capabilities of our MPS product. * Support our sales efforts for our product for the enterprise, media and entertainment, and finance markets * Create sales tools to evangelize thePlatform * Perform in-person and online demonstrations of thePlatform software and services * Be a point of contact for implementation details between customers and thePlatform MPS. * Quickly understand the technical and business level needs of a potential customer and explain how thePlatform services could benefit them * Respond to RFPs and RFIs * Work closely with internal and external developers on custom product implementation. * Interact both internally with sales, marketing, network operations, engineering, professional services, QA, and client services and externally with customers, 3rd party development agencies, and vendors to uphold operations requirements and technical specifications. This role is the driving force behind the deployment of all the Platform's MPS solutions Requirements: * 5+ years professional technology experience, preferably in a software development environment * Experience in project management * Experience in web application development preferably in Java or .NET environments. * Familiarity building applications using external SDKs * Experience with XML and HTML * High level of comfort and experience working with all levels of professionals both internally and externally. * Excellent presentation and documentation skills * Effective communicator and writer * Extremely detail oriented, comfortable working independently, extremely well organized, have the technical aptitude to learn new technologies * Strong ability to work autonomously as a remote employee * Willingness to travel up to 25% Preferred Requirements: * 2+ years professional experience in Internet media applications * Experience with Adobe Flash and AIR products. * Experience with client/server and middleware applications, e-commerce, SQL Server, Oracle * Experience with DRM and other digital media technologies, including advertising * Experience with the mobile landscape including network protocols, formats, codecs, and client-side applications US citizens and Green Card Holders and those authorized to work in the US are encouraged to apply.
