Maintain and upgrade previously developed software written in C and C++ for Reactivity Control Systems. Develop new solutions for new applications.
Maintain and upgrade previously developed software written in C++ for Data Acquisition System (DAS). Develop new solutions for new DAS applications. This includes communications and networking gateway applications.
Develop communication protocol specification to interfaces with customer computer systems and other communication devices.
Establish and maintain productive working relationships with other project team members and project management in order to execute projects on schedule and within budget.
Provide customer training and expert technical consultation as needed, including support for Factory Acceptance Testing, on-site training, system installation and startup support.
Participate in NUMAC Review Team, and in this capacity drive compliance with required software life-cycle processes and promote continuous improvement of the NUMAC product line.
Evaluate and recommend software development and test tools.
Qualifications
BS degree in Computer Science or other Engineering / Technology discipline with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the development of software for real-time embedded systems and data acquisition systems.
Minimum of 1 year of experience in the development of high reliability software for mission critical applications, and associated software life-cycle processes including SEI CMMI methodology.
Six Sigma Green Belt certification (GE Employees Only).
Desired
Proficient in C and C++ programming language.
MS degree with 10+ years of experience in the development of embedded systems and data acquisition systems.
Knowledge of OnTime Real Time OS.
Knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, and UDP).
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
Experience in new product development, and software architecture.
Organized with demonstrated planning and problem solving skills.
Design experience in Ethernet networks.
Familiarity with VxWorks operating system.
Familiarity with VME bus architecture, CPUs, and various I/O boards.
Experience with PVCS or other version control software.
Experience with requirements management tools (e.g.; DOORS and ReqPro.). General
