John Deere Phoenix International in Fargo is seeking a Technical Specialist - Sensors to design, modify and evaluate electronic products for use in rugged environments to meet quality, delivery and cost goals. In this position, you will: Plan, coordinate, and perform; requirements capturing, design concepting, detailed worst case analog and digital circuit analysis, simulation, integration and verification for projects broad and complex in scope. Select components based on analysis of specifications and reliability. Ensure that new superior technologies are utilized in products. Operate in a team environment and may act as lead person or supervisor, providing technical leadership and design solutions. Provide technical direction and leadership to other John Deere Divisions. Be recognized throughout the enterprise as a technical/analytical expert in sensor technologies. Lead in resolution of difficult technical issues across the enterprise, whether within the company or with outside suppliers. Develop and maintain knowledge of industry and technical innovations in electronic design. . Provide Community of Practice (COP) leadership that fosters the development and adaptation of common engineering processes and tools to improve and leverage the individual and organizational performance of the engineering function. Education Bachelor's of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience. Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering desired. Required Skills and Experience 8+ years of experience in the research & development of sensor technologies. Experience with the design and development of analog and digital electronics for sensor applications. Experience and knowledge of electronics manufacturing, testing, quality control and marketing. Desired Skills and Experience Experience with the design and development of sensor technologies for mobile equipment applications. Experience with designing to harsh environmental specifications. Experience with Pspice or other circuit simulation tools. Experience with MathCAD. Experience with Mentor Graphics or other schematic capture tools. Experience with 8, 16 or 32 bit micro controllers.
