John Deere Construction and Forestry is seeking a Bid Proposal Specialist to oversee the initiation, development and completion of responses to complex Requests for Quote (RFQ) and Requests for Proposal (RFP) from large national and overseas commercial customers, national rental companies, and governmental agencies. In this position, you will: Serve as a single point of contact in the development of high-quality, on-time and compliant responses to complex commercial, rental, and governmental RFQs/RFPs from around the world. Coordinate the work efforts of personnel from various disciplines within the Company in order to provide responses to the RFQs/RFPs. Ensure that input from subject matter experts are current accurate and complete, and are included in the RFQ/RFP responses. Ensure that bid proposals are aligned with the Division's financial objectives, budget forecasts and shipment/sales objectives and forecasts. Validate each proposal's compliance with RFQ/RFP requirements. Develop and deliver bid or no-bid decision recommendations to Division Management. Report RFQ/RFP win/loss status to Division Management. Develop a bid proposal process that maximizes wins while supporting the Division's Vital Few objectives. Document, map, and continuously improve the bid proposal process. Maintain reference library of proposals. Provide coaching and counseling to engineering, supply management, sales, marketing, customer support and operations to develop best-in-class proposals. Education Bachelor's degree in a Business, Accounting/Finance, or Supply Management discipline or equivalent experience. Required Skills and Experience Strong quantitative and financial skills. Demonstrated project management experience including management of cross-functional work teams. Proficiency in using the Microsoft Office applications. Excellent interpersonal communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities/tasks. Willingness and ability to travel up to 25%. Desired Skills and Experience Supply Management experience, especially related to developing RFQs and RFPs. Experience working with dealers, channels, and customers. Large account sales experience.
