Yes Date Posted 08/05/2008 Closing Date (Things you should know about closing dates) 09/04/2008 Position Description Applies advanced engineering principles to lead research of technical, operational and quality issues that cannot be resolved by customer and designs interim and final engineering solutions. Leads investigations into complex multidiscipline system related events. Assesses complex system events reports to determine potential safety issues. Analyzes reported problems for potential safety issues. Leads development of interim and final solutions. Develops customer correspondence for continued safe operation and maintenance of equipment. Leads activities for on on-site disabled product repair teams and accident investigation or support team. Reviews and approves design and operational concepts for new designs. Designs complex jacking and shoring schemes. Leads the design of interim structural repairs and conducts static strength analysis. Develops and leads non-destructive test procedures, tools and standards. Works under consultative direction. Demonstrates understanding of the applicable scientific and engineering knowledge and routinely includes industry-wide subject matter experts to obtain good information for the engineering decision-making process. Education and/or Experience Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's 14 or more years' experience, Master's with 12 or more years' experience or PhD with 9 or more years' experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. Other Job related information A minimum of 10 years working knowledge and experience in the design, repair and overhaul of Tandem Rotor Aircraft dynamics is required.
