Come join the new mobile.com, the Mobile Communications Business online marketing and publishing team, and drive the Developer Web presence for one of Microsoft's most exciting, fast-paced, and fast-growing organizations.

This is an exciting new opportunity for a high-impact professional to drive the vision for a brand new developer presence on the windowsmobile.com network. The site manager is responsible for understanding the Microsoft Mobile Communications business and marketing strategies, representing the products and services of Microsoft and a galaxy of partners, and directing the ongoing development of sites that help people understand the Windows Mobile experience and promise, and find the resources they need. The site manager directs this development through analysis of web trends, project management of web deliverables, and relationships with user assistance, product and marketing groups, the field, vendors, and other teams. The greatest challenge is to maintain a strategic and progressive Web presence and also manage the ongoing publishing efforts for the sites.

Principle Job Duties and Responsibilities

Build and manage a new developer presence that is part of windowsmobile.com by working closely with marketing, PR, product groups, user assistance, the field, and other content stakeholders, and the Web team to deliver and maintain a Web presence of great quality, currency, and value.

Take an obsessively developer-focused approach to the site and ensure that it addresses developer needs throughout the lifecycle of a product.

Drive the vision of the site in a way that serves developers and reflects Microsoft's product strategy and goals.

Work closely with other associated teams across Microsoft, especially with MSDN, and third parties to identify and implement features and content that improve the developer experience online and drive the requirements for those innovations and improvements.

Author substantial milestone-driven Web plans as appropriate, and maintain a site launch calendar and status reports.

Drive content acquisition and collaborate with others within Microsoft to understand and help shape the relationship of content to business objectives.

Contribute requirements to and adopt functionality and features developed for Microsoft's Web properties.

Use metrics analysis, usability studies, and direct customer contact to respond to Business audience needs and optimize the experience on the sites.

Qualifications

Has a very solid knowledge of software developers, and what they care most about - plus, a demonstrated ability and commitment to continuous learning, as our developer community is always changing.

Demonstrates a fanatical passion for technology and the Web.

Has a good understanding of web metrics analysis and principles for effective content implementation on the Web.

Understands mobile devices and software, services and business models, individual and organizational requirements and concerns.

Demonstrates high enthusiasm, creativity, and desire to work on an innovative team without a lot of process or boundaries.

Thrives in a highly collaborative online publishing environment and takes initiative in that context.

Exhibits excellent communications and project management skills, as well as strong data-analysis skills.

Has excellent research skills, with an ability to analyze and organize information.

Has demonstrated an ability to manage content-related tasks according to editorial and business standards, manage multiple projects, prioritize competing deadlines, and work effectively under deadline pressure in publication environments that have short lead times and a strong customer focus.

Has a positive track record of working effectively and collaboratively with editors and producers, as well as with product and marketing teams.

Has experience managing vendors and tracking budgets.

Is proficient in Microsoft Word and HTML/XML, understands breaking new technologies and tools and their capabilities, with a demonstrated ability to master multiple tools.

Has experience managing, designing, or maintaining Web sites, and has some editorial or content management background in a context of product marketing, technical support, or user assistance.

Has a BA/BS in English, Technical Communications, Computer Science, Journalism, Information Management, or related discipline.

Some travel may be required.
