The charter for your role as Internal Field Sales Readiness Events & Communications Manager is to develop and execute a field sales readiness events & communications strategy and plan to enable our sales teams for ultimate success. Your responsibilities include:
1) Liaison with the field sales roles within Microsoft to intimately understand their roles, their businesses, their needs
2) Define and execute on the Internal Field Sales Readiness Events strategy
3) Establish a communications strategy for both mobility and non-mobility field sales roles, working to increase their understanding of Windows Mobile and the opportunities that "going mobile" brings to their business
4) Determine and manage the infrastructure strategy in support of the communications strategy, to ensure our field roles are able to find what they need, when they need it to deliver on their sales targets
5) Serve as the BG Lead audience subject matter expert, representing their needs across the Internal Field Sales Readiness team plans and activities
6) Manage event and communications vendors and agency relationships
This is a very exciting role to work across business functions, business groups and the MCB Marketing team to support our strategy. You will establish the framework for how we communicate with our field sales force audiences that are driving our mobility revenue corporate-wide. You will gain visibility across the company, driving our presence at large corporate events, such as MGX and TechReady. You will work with the Field Readiness team, our regions, segment teams, as well as other Microsoft business groups to identify how to most effectively communicate with the field sales teams so that mobility is top of mind. Recommended Experience: The ideal candidate will have a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Marketing or equivalent. MBA a plus. Minimum of 8 years of business experience; 5+ years of functional experience in marketing, field sales, event management and/or readiness. The candidate will have successful working knowledge of the Microsoft organization, and proven ability both to lead and work collaboratively within virtual teams. Applicant must demonstrate a passion for mobility, strong marketing background, and the ability to think strategically as well as tactically to define and drive impactful programs to advance the business. Applicant needs to have a flexible can-do attitude, and proven track record of rapidly increasing responsibility and clear success at meeting objectives. Online marketing and communications skills are critical for success. Candidate should have the ability to work in a fast paced, ambiguous environment as well as demonstrate strong project and vendor management skills, problem solving ability, and attention to detail. International experience a plus.
