The Mobile Communication Business (MCB) division is looking for strong UX Design Lead who is excited about the unique design challenges presented in a mobile lifestyle. Design is a core part of the Mobile Communications Experience team (MCX) - a collaborative group of individuals representing ethnography, visual design, user research, audio design, and interaction design - all focused on defining, designing and delivering great user experiences for Windows Mobile Standard smartphones, Windows Mobile Professional PDAs, and other rich mobile communication devices.
This position is responsible for owning all of the design deliverables that help our MO & OEM partners ship great experiences with Windows Mobile. Including developing partner commercialization and development tools that ease customization and themeing of the user interface in a way that maximizes impact and creativity while maintaining UX coherency. The ideal candidate is excited about working hands-on as part of a team creating visual and interaction solutions for MCB products. You inspire others to maintain a high standard of quality and positively influence how great user-centered design impacts product development. In a rapidly evolving product space, you view unforeseen changes as opportunities, and championing design excellence while incorporating real world limitations which include business alignment. The ideal candidate is someone who can build great relationships with the Microsoft customer facing teams, as well as with the appropriate teams in our OEM and MO partners. The successful candidate will build a team capable of scaling to support commercialization efforts by working with the OEM dedicated teams. The ability to lead others, and build a team is important.
The position requires a strong design background in visual and interaction design, experience leading people, products and the design process, and a portfolio of work demonstrating the range of experience. Must be proficient in industry standard visualization and prototyping tools, and capable of owning large initiatives in a proactive environment.
