Description: Perform Oracle Database Administration for Defense Logistics Information Services. Install, update and maintain Oracle software (9i and 10g) and tools on Windows and UNIX operating systems including, but not limited to, HP-UX and Windows 2000. Create, modify, remove and tune Oracle databases. Serve as the first line of support between developers, end users, functional managers and Oracle Corp regarding issues with Oracle software, SQL programming, tuning and development tools. Provide backup and recovery support using RMAN. Job Qualifications: 6 years experience with Oracle 9i or 10g Mid-level experience with KSH scripting, VI editor and SQL tuning Mid-level experience with installing, trouble-shooting Oracle quarterly critical patch updates Experience with one or more of the following is a plus: Oracle Inter-media / text search Transparent gateway Multi-threaded Listener RMAN. Recent experience with MS SQL Server is a plus. Job Requirements: The position requires good verbal and written communications skills, and the ability to work with others in a team environment. Able to be on-call during off-hours. Applicant must be a US Citizen and must qualify for the necessary DoD IT II security clearance. Education: BA/BS in Computer Science, IT, related engineering discipline or Oracle Certification. A combination of experience and education may be substituted for BA/BS degree. Certification in Network +, Security +, or A+ is a plus. Security Clearance Required.
