John Deere Construction and Forestry is seeking a Hydraulic Engineer to lead the design and development of Knuckleboom Log Loader (KBL) hydraulic systems and upgrades. In this position, you will: Participate in development from initial designs into production on the entire hydraulic system including pumps, hydraulic motors, valves, pilot systems, filtration systems and plumbing. Lead in the investigation and troubleshooting of hydraulic system issues. Travel to customer sites to gain an understanding of the specific forestry application. Education Four year degree in Mechanical, Agricultural, or Hydraulic Engineering or equivalent experience. Required Skills and Experience Comprehensive knowledge of mobile hydraulic circuits and the application of hydraulic components such as pumps, control valves, controllers, filters and hydraulic hoses. Minimum 2+ years Product engineering experience. Minimum 2+ years experience with engineering tools, systems and databases. Experience with a 3-D modeling tool such as Pro/E. Desired Skills and Experience Experience in hydraulic systems design. Experience with ProPiping. Familiarity with a hydraulic modeling package such as Easy5. Electrical/electronics experience. Understanding of forestry machines and related engineering principles.
