John Deere Credit has also recently entered the renewable energy arena with a business unit that focuses on community-based wind projects John Deere Credit in Johnston, IA is looking for a Market Development Analyst. Responsibilities include: Supports and may lead a commodity Strategic Sourcing team with the development and implementation of sourcing strategies for enterprise/region/division/unit. Builds and develops a supply base for procuring less complex and strategic materials, products, supplies and services. Assists with cost models, make vs. buy studies, spend analysis, invoice issue resolution, purchase order creation and maintenance and other data analyses. Responsible for quality, delivery, supplier performance and establishing appropriate material replenishment process. Coordinates and leads efforts to address chronic supplier performance issues and/or validation of suppliers during the early supplier selection process as part of Enterprise Product Delivery Process (PDP). Facilitates the quality planning activities with suppliers. Executes Order Fulfillment Process (OFP) with cost reduction activities, analyzing quotations, and making supplier selection based on criteria such as quality, cost, process capability, lead time and supplier stability. Creates and maintains purchase orders. Works closely with Accounting to address purchase order and invoicing issues. Collects cost data and prepares limited supplier cost/industry analyses. Investigates availability of suppliers and materials in the marketplace; implements enterprise/division sourcing strategies and integrates suppliers in supporting the Enterprise Product Delivery Process (EPDP) and Enterprise Order Fulfillment Process (EOFP). Leads and/or participates on multi-functional teams responsible for make vs. buy decisions, resourcing activities, and developing and implementing sourcing strategies; supports The Engineering Change Management (ECM) process so design changes and product improvements are implemented in a timely and cost effective manner. Maintains an ongoing relationship with assigned suppliers to monitor and improve supplier performance; measures the performance of the supplier and defines corrective actions; obtains assistance from other functional representatives as appropriate; may negotiate with suppliers in order to resolve short-term performance problems. Drives continuous improvement in terms of performance and lowest total cost with the supply base utilizing Achieving Excellence process/criteria and other appropriate supply management tools. Develops and executes inventory plans to achieve inventory/asset management and material flow goals; resolves shipping, receiving, invoicing and payment problems to ensure prompt and accurate payments to suppliers. Leads continuous cost reduction/value improvement activity, focusing on Shareholder Value Added (SVA); develops and implements communication plans to key stakeholders. Defines, resolves, and provides permanent solutions to supplier performance issues with the assistance of other functional representatives such as quality, product engineering, etc., while managing the day-to-day supplier relationship issues, thereby assuring proper communication occurs. Expedites parts as necessary. Supports negotiation of supply agreements with specific suppliers resulting in cost models, an implementation strategy and a documented agreement, ensuring the Company meets its overall goals for cost, quality, continuity of supply, etc. Good Understanding of SAP Understanding of Order Fulfillment Process. Knowledge of unit processes and operations. Skill in interpersonal communications, negotiation, and conflict resolution. Education: Formal education or training required to perform the essential functions of the job. Includes degrees, certifications, licenses and/or registration requirements. Degree in a Business/Management, Supply Management or Accounting/Finance discipline or equivalent experience. Relevant work experiences: Type and amount of experience necessary to perform the essential functions of the job. May include specific roles and/or an understanding of a particular function, organization, industry or product line. Work experience in a team environment. (1 - 3 years) Project management experience. (Less Complex Project, consists of some or all of the following criteria: 5 or less persons on the project team; 1 or 2 disciplines involved; 1 or 2 facilities involved; scope in dollars is less than $500,000 and is determined on budget, revenues generated, savings, etc.) Experience in specific areas of Supply Management such as: supplier integration, strategic supply management, supplier development, module supply management, scheduling, forecasting, logistics, etc. May be position specific.
