Yes Date Posted 08/06/2008 Closing Date (Things you should know about closing dates) 10/06/2008 Position Description This position will be in support of the Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD) Test and Evaluation Embedded Test (ET) Product Test and Integration organization. The candidate will lead the Product Test analyses group through test planning, test case development, test execution, and test analyses. This team ensures all embedded test subsystem requirements are tested through a formal test program. Each requirement is mapped to test cases and tested in a formal environment to determine requirements compliance. The team performs analytical analyses of all data produced by the ET product, to include but not limited to, radar model analyses, system performance, and interface conformance. Technical [ + ] Engineering Tests Techniques Advanced ability to perform engineering tests techniques, including handling qualities, performance, systems testing, structural loads, weapons separation, propulsion, etc. [ + ] Test Conduct Extensive and specialized ability to lead a team to conduct a test, compilation of test sequence, monitor progress of the test, and record test activities while being able to accommodate any unforeseen events that occur during the test. [ + ] Test Configuration Control Extensive and specialized knowledge of test article/vehicle configuration control procedure required to prepare for a given test. This requires the use of configuration control management process to track and maintain article/vehicle configuration. Extensive and specialized ability to configure the test article using test requirements gathered from test plans, government regulations, and safety rules. [ + ] Top-Level (TPD) Extensive and specialized knowledge of test program design (TPD) of Systems (aircraft, satellite, etc.), System of Systems, and product (e.g. key tenants of a test program during the program life cycle) and the process of establishing and integrating the TPD within the program master phasing plan via various program and test program review. Generic understanding of various test categories (Environmental, Structural, Mechanical, Aerodynamics, Electrical, software, etc.). This Extensive and specialized knowledge includes high-level test SOW (test plans), resources (people, skills, facilities, equipment), sequencing and estimating. Extensive and specialized ability to identify the (existing or missing) test processes required to effect a test program based on the unique contracting and teaming relationships that exist on a program. Education and/or Experience Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 9 or more years' experience, Master's with 7 or more years' experience or PhD with 4 or more years' experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
