Yes Date Posted 08/11/2008 Closing Date (Things you should know about closing dates) 08/13/2008 Position Description The H47 Supplier Management organization in Ridley Park PA has an opportunity for a Procurement Multi-family Specialist Level M Manager. The selected candidate will be responsible for leading the H47 Program Buying groups and H47 SM (supplier management) proposal support team. Responsible for managing supplier-related activities and the authority to commit company resources through sub-contracts and supplier agreements in compliance with the IDS SM Procedure Manual. Manages employees and first line level managers from multiple SM disciplines performing activities related to the acquisition of H47 IPT airframe assemblies, vehicle maintenance systems, mission system equipment and services in support of Chinook operations, supplier assessment and performance improvement, management and improvement of supply chain management and processes, proposal support and supplier diversity. Develops and executes integrated organizational plans, policies and procedures and guides the development of business and technical strategies, goals and objectives. Acquires resources for organizational activities, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements. Provides oversight regarding negotiation strategies, processes and related tools. Manages, develops and motivates employees and first line level managers. Manages small and large scale proposal support efforts. This position reports to the Sr. Manager of H47 Supplier Management and H47 Chief Engineer. Technical [ + ] Procurement Systems Thorough knowledge of the procurement process used at company sites in order to track procurement obligations such as, schedule compliance, quantity and past performance. Overall knowledge of processes used in procurement activities such as supplier selection, identification of requirements bid list development, supplier/subtler management and supplier recommendations for goods and services. [ + ] Supplier Management Thorough knowledge of supplier assessment processes including Preferred Supplier Certification and Work Transfer Process. Elements of assessment to include supplier's past performance, business processes, capacity plan, statement of work evaluation, risk mitigation plan, capabilities and lean practices in order to rate supplier viability to support the Boeing companies goals and objectives. Ability to control and deliver project deliverables, project accounting and appraisal, and optimize the contribution of the people involved using project management tools. Education and/or Experience Other Job related information Demonstration of the Boeing Leadership Attributes. Experienced Procurement Manager with knowledge of Defense Industry Supplier Management processes, tools and procedures. Knowledge of ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulation), FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulation), TINA (Truth In Negotiations Act) and DOD (Department Of Defense) contracting types and techniques. Experienced managing large scale proposals and their transition to production. Demonstrated project management and leadership attributes with emphasis on Finds a Way and Delivers Results. Ability to work under pressure of multiple concurrent projects. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Travel required. Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or related Business Field. Masters degree preferred. Typically persons in this position would possess 15 years related management/work experience or 13 years with an advanced degree.
