Senior Product Manager, Retail
The Mobile Communications Business Marketing Team is looking for a consumer and retail focused Senior Product Manager, looking to define and drive the retail and online distribution of a first-of-its-kind V1 mobile web service at the convergence interface of mobile communications and Web 2.0.
As the Senior Product Manager for Retail, you will own and drive the retail and online distribution and marketing strategy, coordinate cross-sell and package distribution with and through other Microsoft channels and products, and define the retail customer acquisition process and experience from awareness through to product usage.
Your key responsibilities will include:
1) Develop and drive analysis for retail and direct to consumer distribution and packaging strategies to accelerate global reach
2) Define the retail customer acquisition process and purchase experience from awareness to product usage
3) Develop and execute the direct to consumer channel launch plan
4) Partner with, align and conclude internal distribution and packaging agreements with other Microsoft product groups
5) Adapt core product positioning and messaging by retail channel and context
6) Coordinate the development and delivery of all consumer-facing content and collateral
7) Own and optimize the service portal user experience to increase satisfaction and usage
Qualified candidates will be able to demonstrate through experience and interviews:
1) End-to-end experience in successfully defining, driving alignment behind and ensuring execution of a retail product launch
2) Domain experience in managing, marketing and promoting web or mobile services.
3) Functional experience in product management, product marketing and 1:many direct to consumer sales
4) Professional experience and enthusiasm for launching and marketing a product directly to consumers
5) Passion for detail and excellence in delivering a great customer and usage experience
6) Creativity, and ability to balance analytical research with qualitative feedback and intuitive judgment
Professional Qualifications
The preferred candidate will have an MBA or equivalent Master's level degree, with at least 3 years of product marketing/management work experience in a world-class company in a retail or online or web services industry, part of which in a people management and business leadership capacity
Education
An undergraduate degree is required, MBA is highly preferred.
