This individual will be responsible for managing the development and implementation of supply chain activities in Product Operations to meet production goals, quality and cost objectives for a rapidly growing medical device manufacturer. This individual influences manufacturing and engineering management in determining strategy and execution of technical solutions in worldwide manufacturing. Reporting to the company CFO, The Manager, Supply Chain Management oversees the entire supply chain and is the accountable leader for supply chain readiness, total cost management and risk mitigation. High Level Responsibilities: Manage total cost and supply continuity risk mitigation throughout product lifecycle Responsible for Supply chain design working with cross functional team based on product requirements Communicate the supply chain strategy to appropriate teams. Understand all elements of product cost; validates the integrity of the costed BOM and forward costing; able to clearly articulate the main cost drivers, cost reduction and cost avoidance activities. Execute Life Cycle Cost management plan Manage continuity of material supply, delivery and quality ensuring no shortages, delays or quality issues. Utilize appropriate resources and influences sourcing decisions to achieve optimal product cost. Manage the costed BOM integrity, risk, analysis and communication to the Ops team. Perform BOM risk analysis, identifying and validating risk parts driving resolution or developing mitigations plans. Manage supplier performance and team expectations by proactively driving suppliers to meet or exceed committed performance by building relationships and trust with suppliers. Required Skills/Experience: Typically requires MBA or equivalent experience plus 10+ years supply chain management experience. Previous experience managing a team of direct reports is desired. Experience in the medical products industry is highly preferred. Technical or MS degree preferred. APICS/NAPM Certification preferred Supply Chain Management- leverage an understanding of relevant global forces to develop a proactive, long-term strategy that manages risks across the entire supply channel. Develop innovations in supply base management Commodity Knowledge- innovate integrated processes to improve supplier performance- influence sourcing and technology roadmaps for a relevant commodity. Leverage a long-range view of the industry to ensure that the right investments are made in alignment with needs. Demand Planning- model and analyze forecast performance using forecast history data and sophisticated statistical analysis techniques. Anticipate and drive interventions to mitigate the impact of planning changes and disruptions on downstream manufacturing processes Materials Management- proactively identify and implement industry best-practices and innovative improvements in the global materials process. Identify innovative strategies for improving the procurement process (e.g., metrics, cost-saving/avoidance, alternative opportunities for strategic component procurement) Must be open to some occasional travel.
