The Team
Based on the broad adoption and worldwide success of our award-winning Windows Media DRM technology we are currently developing Microsoft's next generation platform, PlayReady?, to provide unparalleled flexibility in how users consume their premium entertainment content anytime, anywhere, and on any device.
We are chartered with building a business that provides both a strategic platform to Microsoft's entertainment initiatives and deliver a positive contribution margin to Microsoft through licensing deals with external partners.
We believe in fast paced development cycles, building runtimes for the PC and Mac, software development kits for devices and servers, as well as online services, all under the same roof.
The Release Management team is helping to shape this belief and drive the releases to this fast pace with high quality. Providing the appropriate and well written documentation (hence the name - user education) to our customers and partners is critical to our adoption and success. Therefore we are looking for a well organized, energetic, and passionate project manager to own our user education program and support the organization in delivering high quality products to our customers.
Responsibilities Include:
Manage the creation and distribution of materials for our customers and partners
Manage a team of technical and programmer writers and editor
Develop the infrastructure, processes, and templates for developing and reviewing all product materials
Interface with other Microsoft teams to understand and develop rules and processes for sharing product documentation across the company and with our external partners and customers
Drive high quality throughout our product materials and provide final signoff for all materials released
Determine the teams full spectrum of user education materials and drive the creation of the appropriate content
Ensure successful and timely completion of signoff requirements
Assist the release management team with driving customer satisfaction releases
Qualifications Include:
Prior experience with user education/product documentation efforts
Two (or more) full software ship cycles
Project management skills
Experience working across multiple disciplines and teams
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent cross team collaboration skills
Ability to drive work items and issues to closure
Project Management Institute Certification is a plus
