Do you want to be challenged in the most exciting and rapidly expanding segment of the entertainment industry? Join the Entertainment Experience Group (EXG) as a user researcher for Windows Gaming! Your work will affect the user experience in diverse arenas, such as games for Windows Messenger, MSN Games, and Games for Windows Live. Your strong research background and experience providing user research and usability support for entertainment products will help take this diverse family of products and websites to the next level.
As a User Experience Researcher in EXG, you will be responsible for:
Managing research activities for products across releases, including developing both tactical and strategic research plans for multiple research studies across multiple releases.
Developing and managing relationships with product teams, and advocating for a user-centered design process across them.
Designing and conducting usability studies independently, and analyzing the resulting data; writing reports and giving convincing presentations that lead to meaningful improvements in the user experience.
Working with the product team to turn their design questions into questions that can be tested with appropriate research methodologies.
Working to identify critical issues with the user experience, and working closely with designers and PMs to address them.
Identifying opportunities to conduct exploratory user research projects (not product specific) and submit publications.
The Entertainment Experience Group is a multidisciplinary team with the charter of designing awesome end-to-end experiences that are desirable, thoughtful, consistent, and easy-to-use across Microsoft's Entertainment & Devices Division. Our goal is to ensure full integration of brand, industrial design, user interface, graphic design, usability, and business strategy. This position is located at the Microsoft campus in Redmond, WA.
