John Deere Intelligent Mobile Equipment Technologies is seeking a Graphical User Interface Systems Engineer to provide the development and implementation of the Human Machine Interface aspect of GPS based vehicle guidance, documentation, and automation systems. In this position, you will be responsible for:
User Interface Design - Design the product user interface according to standards and best practices.
Requirements Development - Write user interface specifications including UI layout and descriptions of interface elements.
Prototyping - Develop functional, operational, physical, and user interface architectures.
Be a part of a cross-functional product development team including system engineers, software engineers, marketing, quality, supply management, customer support, and program management.
Work with customers and use customer feedback to engineer the best possible GUI for new products.
Education
Bachlor's of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent experience preferred.
Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, MIS, Human Factors or Graphic Design with strong technicaland GUI experience also acceptable.
Required Skills and Experience
2+ years of experience developing and implementing GUI designs in a production system/product.
Experience with developing software GUI layouts as well as UI modeling and UI prototyping.
Software engineering, systems engineering, or requirements engineering experience with requirements documentation.
General understanding of HCI/CHI/HFE.
Desired Skills and Experience
Experience with GUI software development process.
Experience with agriculture or construction vehicles or similar industry.
Experience with complex electrical systems, ISO11783-based CAN networks, and GPS based guidance systems.
