Responsible for design, development and analysis of printed circuit boards (PCB's) primarily using ORCAD, Allegro and PCAD design tools.
Develop or revise electronic printed circuit boards using various revisions of Orcad, Cadence Allegro, PCAD schematic capture/layout. and Altera, Actel CPLD and FPGA development tools.
Interface with drafting / designers and check their output.
Update obsolete PCB documentation as needed.
Produce GE corporate design documentation including Gerber manufacturing files.
Provide PCB support to manufacturing.
Coordination of development activities with CAD designers located on site and at remote locations.
Responsibilities include system administrator for the software tools, maintenance of parts databases and symbol libraries, design documentation.
Interface and collaborate with function IM to control the software licenses and maintain our service agreements with suppliers.
Qualifications
BSEE degree with 3+ years experience -or- 8+ years experienced with electronic circuit design and components including board layout techniques and modern design and analysis software / tools to optimize performance and manufacturability using the tools in the essential functions.
Excellent English communication skills (verbal and writing).
Six Sigma Green Belt certification (GE Employees Only).
Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
Some travel and working with remote employees will be required.
Desired
BSEE or other Engineering, physical sciences or mathematics degree.
Familiar with various packaging technologies from thru-hole to surface mount electronics including BGA.
10+ years professional experience designing and implementing modern electronic packaging and products.
Familiarity with implementation of RoHS directive.
AutoCAD experience is a plus.
