John Deere Power Systems is seeking a Field Test Engineer to provide product and Customer Support insights into new engine product introductions as well as drive verification and validation activities on core deliverables. In this position, you will:

Provide input into multiple teams to ensure engine reliability, repairability, and maintenance goals are achieved.
Develop unique diagnostic and instrumentation solutions to verify and validate engine publications, software, and training materials.
Create and execute proactive Product Verification and Validation (PV&V) plans to ensure quality on-time delivery of Customer Support deliverables.
Coordinate development and improvement in both soft and hard service tools.
Develop long and short term technical solutions for both new and current products.
Engage with cross functional Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality Improvement teams to ensure new product introductions are successful.
Analyze and gather data from multiple sources within and outside John Deere to create useful field solutions.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technology discipline or equivalent experience.

Required Skills and Experience

Customer support experience with customer interaction regarding products, parts, and services.
Technical experience relating to design/diagnostics of mechanical/electrical/hydraulic systems.
Work experience in a team environment.
Passion for ensuring customer needs for repairability, reliability, and maintenance are met.
Ability to read prints and technical manuals.
Knowledge of products, customers, markets, and competitors.
Knowledge of and ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems.
Willingness to travel occasionally to do advanced testing and reconciliation of customer support deliverables.

Desired Skills and Experience

Experience with advanced engine diagnostics and instrumentation.
Working knowledge of on-road engine systems and aftertreatment systems.
Experience with design, engineering, and manufacturing interfacing.
