John Deere Power Systems is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to plan, coordinate and perform manufacturing engineering work for a project or process of moderate scope or for a significant portion of a major and diverse project or process. In this position, you will:

Provide strategic support to the assembly line.
Establish Sequence of Events (SOE), methods, layouts, and tooling for new processes and/or new parts.
Be the Project Manager for capital investments for assembly.
Implement mistake proofing in the assembly process.
Support the Enterprise Product Delivery Process (EPDP).
Participate in Design, Process, and Assembly Reviews (DPAR).
Participate in Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (PFMEA).
Support change management in the Engine Works assembly division.
Create and maintain routings and bills of material in SAP.
Work with assembly operating team to address process issues.
Create and maintain visual aids.
Specify and purchase assembly equipment such as torque tools, hand tools, fixtures, manipulators, etc.
Participate in Continuous Improvement (CI) teams.
Provide assistance to current production manufacturing team as needed.

Education

4 year Engineering or Technical Degree.

Required Skills and Experience

Lean Manufacturing experience.
Knowledge of DC Electric torque tools.
Experience with SAP and PDM (Product Data Management).
Experience with virtual manufacturing tools such as Vis Mockup, ALiSS, ProModel.
Knowledge of standard quality tools such as PFMEA (Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis), Root Cause Analysis, and Statistics.
Experience with purchasing assembly equipment.

Desired Skills and Experience

Experience using the Deere Production System.
Experience demonstrating Team Work.
Self-starter.
Able to drive complex problems toward resolution.
Project Management experience.
Knowledge of Assembly operations.
