Vice President ? Supply Chain Reports To : Senior Vice President - Operations Supervises: Director of Purchasing Director of Logistics Principle Objective : This is a corporate-based position with the primary responsibility of overseeing the purchasing/negotiating of raw materials, comprehensive responsibility for overall inventory levels, purchasing/leasing of all material handling equipment, negotiating freight services (foreign and domestic) and initiating overall continuous improvement activities at all company and consigned distribution centers. This position will also maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that gets along with customers, clients, and all levels of co-workers. While an effort is made to thoroughly describe the customary manner in which this job is performed, reasonable accommodations will be made for qualified individuals with disabilities who may not be able to perform this job in the manner indicated. · Direct the purchasing of raw materials; Copper, PVC, rubber, reels, packaging, etc. · Develop comprehensive program to lower inventory levels without a service reduction. · Direct the buying of freight services: Outbound; LTL, TL, Inter-modal, small package, Inbound; Asian containers · Direct the buying of material handling equipment and related maintenance/service agreements. · Direct continuous improvement activities at all distribution centers (company & consigned) · Create a program for leveraging our purchase of MRO, electricity, natural gas, etc. · Serve as internal consultant for inventory modeling. Desirable Qualifications : MBA, CPM, APICS certification. Ten or more years in a senior level supply chain role for a manufacturer and importer. Previous direct purchase responsibilities for commodities (copper, PVC, rubber, reels, etc.) and freight services. Prior direct responsibility for a large multi sited distribution center. Working Knowledge : Must have working knowledge of computer functions, including Manhatten WMS (or similar software), Excel, and be able to use AS400 or other data management software. Must possess effective verbal and written communication skills, as well as ability to "implement" self through inclusive activities, leading by example and immersion in subordinates activities. Must have a high level of familiarity with inventory modeling dynamics, with a proven track record of reducing inventory levels while maintaining on-time shipping performance.
