Located a short distance from Dupont Circle and Foggy Bottom Metros, the Association of American Medical Colleges ( [link removed] ) is a highly-regarded 132-year old nonprofit organization representing all accredited medical schools in the United States and Canada, nearly 400 major teaching hospitals and health systems, including 68 Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Centers, and medical academic and professional societies.
We are expanding, and currently seek the following new addition to our IT Team:
Application Security Specialist
Reporting to the Director, and interacting with software engineers, QA testers, business analysts, and project managers throughout the SDLC, the Application Security Specialist is responsible for ensuring the development of secure Internet-based apps.

Assist in defining and implementing AAMC application security policy, standards, and procedures, including
security requirements analysis, application design, construction, and security testing
Perform app risk assessments, threat modeling, and security audits; specify remediation plans
Ensure applications are in compliance with all applicable law as well as the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS)
Qualifications
2-4 years experience in a software development role using one or more of the following languages: Java (preferred), Cold Fusion, and Oracle PL/SQL.At least 1 year in a dedicated application security role
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or related discipline required
Professional security certifications a plus
Familiar with risk analysis, vulnerability assessment methodologies, as well as information systems security concepts/methodologies and countermeasures
Hands-on experience withAppScan or other application vulnerability scanner
Knowledge of app hosting platforms a plus, including IIS/Windows, Apache/Tomcat/Linux, and WebSphere
Knowledge of PKI, use of common encryption libraries, and Oracle database encryption solutions a plus
