The Lead Process Chemical Engineer will take a lead role in the detailed design and specification of GE Water & Process Technologies proprietary evaporators and crystallizers in addition to ancillary and auxiliary systems.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing practical and innovative ways to identify and meet goals. He or she is responsible for work that is less defined in scope and has the understanding and experience to execute business objectives. This role has the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals.

*Works closely with the Project Management, Engineering and Commercial teams developing solutions to waste water treatment involving evaporator and crystallizer technologies at the proposal and project start up phases (including travel to job site).

*Executes the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements. This includes the sizing of industrial evaporators and crystallizers for wastewater applications, the development of Process Flow Diagrams (PFD) and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID). In addition, this individual is responsible for associated heat and material balance for each project.

*Designs and plans measurement and control systems for chemical plants based on data collected in laboratory experiments and pilot plant operations.

*Assures proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures.

Qualifications

*Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering or other field.

*At least 5 years of experience in the design of evaporators and crystallizers.

Desired

*10 or more years of industrial experience in the design of evaporators and crystallizers.

*Strong technical aptitude, including applicable engineering tools and systems.

*Strong oral and written communication skills.

*Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

*PC Proficiency.

*Ability to travel to project sites as required.
