John Deere Agricultural Equipment is seeking a Paint Engineer to engineer and develop equipment and processes for our paint system. This includes leading team studies related to capacity and efficiency, and implementing projects based on those studies. In this position, you will:
Coordinate with suppliers and the John Deere tech center to improve existing and/or develop new pretreatment, black paint, and green paint systems.
Champion paint quality through stringent process adherence, and implementation of quality process improvements.
Champion and improve overall product flow through the paint system.
Champion improvement of part hanging and handling methods through the paint system.
Education
Bachelor's degree in a Technical/Engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
Required Skills and Experience
Ability to adapt and be flexible.
Paint process experience in a manufacturing environment.
Familiarity with standard paint test procedures and their applicability.
Paint defect analysis and root cause identification.
Strong communication and facilitation skills.
Competent in using Microsoft Word and Excel.
Desired Skills and Experience
Experience with John Deere's green powder and black dip tank technologies. Knowledge of quality programs and tools such as FMEA (failure mode effects analysis), SPC (statistical process control) and Control Plans.
Demonstrated ability to lead teams.
Experience with the following computer applications/programs; AutoCad, Pro/E, VisMockup, PLC Programming.
