Operation Engineer
Our client is looking for an experienced Operations Engineer to provide problem, change and release management services for mission critical database platform supporting enterprise applications/solutions. This position is responsible for providing technical expertise and guidance for database solutions to support including mentoring other team members and vendors ensuring the readiness of the Production Support team. This position will team with program and solutions management, architecture, development, and test, leveraging your understanding of cross-group synergies and dependencies to identify solutions for issues, problems, and projects, which result in service improvements. Pro-actively identify and resolve database issues and influence database architecture layout early in project phase. Own database installations, migrations, data placement, recovery strategies and sustain operations.
As Operations Engineer, You'll play a key role throughout the product development cycle, collaborating on designs, features, and driving quality requirements and ensuring the product is ready for a high-availability database environment. You'll design, develop and own appropriate operational monitoring solutions and provide superior level Production Support. You will deliver on strategies for the continual improvement of operations services and products that support product ship cycles and next wave of product development.
Requirements:
-4 years of database administration and/or DBE experience managing enterprise applications
-Experience in SQL Server 2000/2005, including OLAP
-Database Administration including performance tuning, TSQL, Troubleshooting and data analysis, installations, and restoration and recovery strategies
-Excellent understanding of Microsoft Windows 2003 operating system
-Ability to analyze database incidents and quickly resolve with a thorough understanding of client/server architectures and high-availability clustered environments
-Ability to design and implement databases for high availability and scalability
-Demonstrated ability in implementing and supporting multi-tiered, leading edge technology solutions at an enterprise scale
-A strong knowledge in Windows Server, Active Directory, IIS, SQL, Clustering, and Load Balancing is required. (Exchange, Virtual Server, MOM preferred)
Preffered Skills:
-Experience with change control, source control, disaster recovery and backup strategies required
-Experience in application releases and change management desired
-Understanding MS Dynamics CRM operations desired
-Familiarity with HTML , CSS, ASP, ASP.NET, VBScript required
-Familiarity with MOSS, SharePoint Services and Performance Point Server desired.
-Familiarity with service management foundations such as ITIL or MOF
