TheCenter on AIDS & Community Health (COACH ), is charged with developing and managing projects (both government and private-sector funding) focusing on HIV/AIDS and community-level health strategies.
The Center manages three Centers for Disease Control and Prevention contracts (one a subcontract) to provide Technical Support for HIV, Viral Hepatitis, STD, TB Prevention for the National Center for HIV, Viral Hepatitis, STD, and TB Prevention and for the Global AIDS Program; two Health Resources and Services Administration domestic HIV/AIDS service capacity building cooperative agreements; three USAID-funded Latin American HIV/AIDS projects (PASCA and Comunicando VIDA) and one African HIV/AIDS Project (Ghana Inform); a Department of Labor international HIV/AIDS workplace education program (SMARTWork); and several foundation-funded initiatives in HIV/AIDS and community health.
Under the guidance of CDC Division of HIV/AIDS Prevention, AED COACH coordinates the Diffusion of Effective Behavioral Interventions (DEBI) Project, a national-level strategy to provide training and on-going technical assistance on selected evidence-based HIV/STD interventions to state and community HIV/STD program staff. Under the supervision of the Senior Program Associate, theSenior Technical Assistant will provide operational, administrative, financial, and programmatic support to center-wide functions and the DEBI Project. More specifically, the Sr. Technical Assistant will assist the Project Associate in the coordination of training-related scheduling, communication and correspondence for clients and program staff, including maintaining organized records, correspondence, and training-related materials. The Sr. Technical Assistant will also provide executive administrative support for calendar scheduling and travel for the Senior Vice president of the Center.
Specific Knowledge Requirements:
- At least two years working in an office setting, preferably in a large non-profit organization;
- Experience in conference/event planning;
- Experience in qualitative and quantitative research methods, including experience in quantitative data analysis desired.

Education:
Bachelors in one of the following or related fields: Business Administration, Community Health Education, Health Ed. & Behavioral Science, Health Promotion and Public Health required or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
