We live in an increasingly mobile world and our customers increasingly want, and need, to stay connected while on the go. Whether browsing email, accessing exciting new Microsoft mobile services, or talking to their family on their personal phone while traveling on business in China, the new scenarios enabled by wireless networking technologies are endless. Where only a few years ago mobile phones were only for voice, now there is a proliferation of radio technologies ranging from Bluetooth, NFC, and UWB, offering short-range, high-speed communications, to 4G technologies like LTE and WiMAX, promising 100Mb download speeds to large areas.
We are looking for an individual contributor to join our team who wants to be part of this world and help drive the ecosystem to bring to market new technologies in support of new revenue models. The challenges of this position include clarifying Microsoft's internal strategic vision around a given technology, working with other groups within Microsoft and within the industry on go-to-market plans, and delivering on the necessary software solutions in Windows Mobile to ensure we have a great end-to-end story for our customers.
This person will be responsible for:
Being the subject matter expert, on both a technical and business level, for one or more radio technologies.
Working cross-company to formulate a strategy leveraging our unique assets to create value for our customers and partners.
Working with chipset vendors, OEMs, and mobile operators to deliver solutions to the market.
Participating in standards bodies related to their technology.
Qualifications:
Five plus years of relevant industry experience. Partner relations experience helpful.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills required; experience in forming, communicating and executing on a vision that involves multiple, interrelated ecosystem members.
Demonstrated passion for networking technologies and what they can do for the customers.
Technical understanding of networking and multiple networking technologies helpful.
