Are you looking for an exciting opportunity for you to work in a dynamic and growing company with talented people? Our client, an industry leader in offering innovative health benefit plan models and the nation's most sophisticated employee benefits services to employers of all sizes is currently looking for an Enterprise Solution Architect.
You will work within the strategic guidelines established by the CIO and the Assistant V.P. of Enterprise Architecture, and assume primary responsibility for the architectural design of all strategic business applications. The ESA's scope encompasses both internal and inter-application design issues and will closely collaborate with the Director of Database Architecture. Key emphasis will be placed on designing applications meeting current and future business requirements in a manner which effectively applies Microsoft .NET technologies and modern design standards/patterns.
Essential Functions:
* Perform as a hands-on strategic applications architect. Provide project-level guidance by identifying and mitigating project risks
* Define and oversight enterprise-wide technologies and guidelines such as service-oriented architectures, enterprise integration patterns, and enterprise architecture patterns.
* Collaborate with the Director of Database Architecture to refine application database designs and how applications use their databases.
* Consult with and mentor software development groups on how to best leverage enterprise-wide technologies and guidelines.
* Conduct a comprehensive audit of all existing business applications and document their current state using architectural diagrams.
* In concert with the Director of Database Architecture, lead the development of technology plans/roadmaps that address current challenges and how to achieve a target future state.
* Develop, maintain, and evangelize company-wide development standards that ensure continuously improving alignment between our application portfolio and our desired future state.
* Establish and grow relationships with key leaders and subject-matter experts across the enterprise. Identify, communicate, and promote business and IT improvement opportunities.
* Lead COTS package selection efforts and ensure that such packages integrate well within our application portfolio.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
Eight of more years experience as a Solution Architect or similar role. Five or more years experience as a Senior Software Engineer. Knowledge and experience designing complex business solutions employing advanced system technologies with principle emphasis on Microsoft-based technologies.
Additional experience, knowledge and skills include:
* Proven competency architecting large-scale, enterprise-wide, data-centric applications.
* A deep understanding of best-practice architecture disciplines, processes and concepts.
* Experience eliciting and converting long-range business requirements into actionable architectural strategies.
* Comprehensive experience using Microsoft .NET application development and implementation technologies.
* Extensive experience using Service Oriented Architecture. Experience using an Enterprise Service Bus a plus.
* Superb ability to communicate complex technical concepts, strategies, and standards at multiple levels within the Business and Information Technology staff.
Educational Requirements:
* Bachelor and Master college degrees in computer science or business degrees with computer specialization or equivalent experience.
