John Deere Davenport Works Product Support is seeking a Factory Technical Support Specialist to provide product and customer support or training for products, services, or initiatives. In this position, you will:
Work and respond to Dealer Technical Assistance Center (DTAC) cases.
Provide clear, timely, and accurate technical assistance to the technicians that are solving customer machine problems.
Author and publish technical solutions to build an accurate and comprehensive solution data base, which enables dealers to quickly search and respond to customer issues with known solutions.
Drive activities to improve reliability and serviceability of products.
Work effectively with engineering, quality, manufacturing, suppliers and others as needed in determining root cause and developing solutions.
Support Early Customer feedback process at launch of new products to enable world class quality and reliability.
Travel to dealer and customer sites to further provide technical support and drive customer satisfaction.
Participate as team member in weekly Functional Group/Quality Improvement project team meetings; as the Product Support representative, provide customer feedback on current issues and provide input on customer and dealer impact of changes.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's degree in an Engineering/Technology discipline or equivalent diagnostic and mechanical experience.
Required Skills and Experience
Ability to read diagnostic procedures and solve technical issues for heavy equipment.
Technical experience relating to design/diagnostics of mechanical/electrical/hydraulic systems.
Ability to read prints and schematics.
Willingness and able to travel to the field occasionally both domestically and internationally.
Good teamwork skills and the ability to work with all levels of personnel (wage, engineering, management.
Strong interpersonal communication skills to work effectively with others.
Good business correspondence skills to communicate ideas effectively.
Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and general PC skills.
Desired Skills and Experience
Foreign language skills (Spanish or French) proficiency with verbal and written communication.
Customer support experience with customer interaction regarding products, parts, and services.
Factory experience with regular interfacing with design, engineering, and manufacturing.
Knowledge of products, customers, markets and competitors related construction equipment (Loaders).
Knowledge of DTAC (Dealer Technical Assistance Center) system.
