Main Job Duties and Responsibilities
Understand customer requirements and specifications by evaluating part prints, equipment descriptions, technical documents and developing customer proposals.
Develop and writes equipment performance requirements, cost analysis and proposals for integrating machines, fixtures and tooling into a viable manufacturing process, applying knowledge of mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, cutting tool technology and CNC programming.
Develop and install all CNC programs for the process.
Set up and operate machines, workholding and tooling to manage prototype or experimental parts to develop process parameters for proposal estimating or process and tooling viability verifications.
Prepare drawings or sketches, including workholding concepts, tool layouts and picture process sheets.
Performs Statistical Process Control studies and planning, utilizing statistical knowledge of measurement methods and benchmarking existing and prior processes.
Assist in ISO/QS-9000 document administration.
Assist in determining run-off parameters, maintenance tasks, safety procedures and service schedule required to maintain equipment.
Develop and/or participate in development of PFEMA.
Skills Required
Candidate must be able to understand and interpret GD&T.
Candidate must be familiar with high and medium volume production requirements, methods and equipment.
Candidate must have excellent verbal, written and cross functional communication skills.
Experience Required
10 years experience in the machine tool industry.
3 - 5 years experience with the following computer applications: ACAD and Microsoft Office.
Education Required
Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent experience.
