The Sourcing Lean Team Leader will lead Lean and Six Sigma process improvement for the Sourcing Lean Team, ensuring key processes and systems are designed and implemented with Six Sigma methodology.
* Develop and implement strategy for the Sourcing Lean Team Energy-wide ~19 Lean BBs across the Americas, Asia and Europe minimum 50 AWOs with over 40 suppliers and 65 assessments, while achieving desired results and aligning to business needs at key identified suppliers to increase capacity, reduce cycle time, and/or provide cost benefit to GE.
* Manage Sourcing Lean team in 3 different poles to ensure results-oriented activities, provide team mentoring and support team development and facilitate certification activities. Develop pole leaders to allow each pole to meet the specific Lean needs of that pole.
* Leverage Lean principles to realize additional cost benefits, capacity, OTD, etc. and achieve $45MM financial benefits in 2009 by utilizing / implementing Lean at suppliers.
* Drive On-Time Delivery Big Y and mentor Six Sigma projects for the Sourcing Lean Team by providing expertise and leadership.
* Drive continuous transactional quality improvement through incorporation of VOC requirements in all projects.
* Act as Lean Champion, driving Lean culture throughout the global supply base and across all GE Energy business segments.
* Integrate Sourcing Lean activities with the business strategies, allocating resources accordingly and communicating metrics and project objectives, status, barriers, and results to all levels of the organization as required, including senior business leadership.
Qualifications
* BA or BS degree.
* Six Sigma Green Belt Certification (GE employees only).
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
* Extensive travel required - approximately 50%.
Desired
* Bachelor's degree in Business or technology field.
* Strong quantitative and analytical skills with a strong focus on data-driven decision-making.
* Solid leadership skills, change agent, customer centric, independent thinker.
* Demonstrated project management skills with ability to handle multiple tasks in compressed timeframes.
* Cross-functional experience and experience working across cultures / time zones.
* Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
* Black Belt / Master Black Belt Certified (For GE internal candidates).
* Lean manufacturing experience.
* Prior Sourcing experience.
* Advanced degree.
