* The Advanced Manufacturing Engineer will provide technical leadership, expertise and support for development of conventional and non-conventional machining processes of gas turbine components. Act as a supply chain expert in one of the following areas: conventional machining including milling, broaching, turning, grinding, sawing, drilling, boring, tapping or non-conventional machining including CNC, EDM, wire EDM, ECM, or chemical machining.

* Responsible for driving creation and implementation of new processes and products for supply chain. This includes using New Product Introduction (NPI) tollgate process to drive producibility/process capability, manufacturing process development, tool designing, integrated scheduling, design to cost, sourcing technical support, quality qualifications, test support, product cost out, P&E and smooth hand off of new products into the standard supply chain process.

* Work in a highly cross-functional environment with engineering, sourcing, manufacturing, product management and supplier leadership to influence and introduce design configurations with extraordinary quality that are also highly manufacturable and cost effective.

* Support Six Sigma and LEAN manufacturing initiatives.
Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in mechanical, or materials engineering from an accredited institution.

* 5+ years experience in manufacturing engineering, design engineering or advanced manufacturing engineering in parts machining, CNC machining, EDM machining, milling, and broaching

* 5+ years project leadership and/or process design experience within an engineering, manufacturing or supply chain function.

* 5+ years experience reading and understanding technical specifications, blue prints and bills of material.

* 2+ years quality experience or certification.

* Green Belt certified (GE employees only).

Desired

* Strong manufacturing process experience.

* Proficient with CAM / Unigraphics.

* ERP experience (COPICS, Oracle, SAP).

* Current technical knowledge in the latest trends in conventional/non-conventional machining technology.
