The Mobile Communications Business (MCB) is looking for a talented senior marketing leader to direct its global channel marketing strategy and execution. MCB is the fastest growing division at Microsoft and is a highly dynamic business with global scope competing against some of the best companies in the industry. We are looking for a strategic leader with a strong business and marketing background to take our presence within MCB's channels to the next level with an emphasis on breakthrough retail experiences and competitive positioning and selling programs in key resale channels. You will have the unique opportunity to work closely with OEM, Mobile Operator, Retail, Distribution, Reseller and other top partners to drive the global go-to-market and channel programs that excite our partners and customers, and meet our business goals.
Your responsibilities include:
o Define and drive the global channel strategy across consumer, small and midsize business segments, with OEM, Operator, Retail, Distribution and Reseller partners
o Drive thought leadership and transformation of the retail experience for Windows Mobile phone consumers through partner integrated and category building marketing strategies
o Lead development of global, innovative sales driving campaigns, promotions, and incentives that create excitement for customers and partners and build brand equity for Windows Mobile
o Develop and build channels, and accompanying business propositions, that capitalize on new and emerging growth and revenue opportunities for Mobile phones and services for partners and MCB
o Develop strong relationships and collaboration with strategic partners including OEM's, Mobile Operators, Retailers, Resellers to drive joint marketing activities that increase business, sales and customer satisfaction.
o Lead and manage global business intelligence, performance metrics and processes for the channel that enable operational scale, critical insights, management of channel mix, effective placement of resources and marketing investments, and performance/ROI of campaigns and programs across the regions.
o Work across MCB and other Microsoft groups including product management, OEM, Communications Sector, Marketing Communications, Microsoft Partner Program, Small Business Specialist Community, Entertainment and Devices, to orchestrate and coordinate channel strategies as part of integrated go-to-markets for products and services
o Manage and inspire a large team of marketing professionals to deliver great performance as well as growing and developing people.
o Manage large budgets with global reach; Provide strategic direction and oversight of agencies and vendors
This position requires strong business, marketing and strategic thinking skills as well as the ability to drive seamless execution across a large global business and diverse channels. The role also requires exceptionally strong presence, communication and writing skills. The ability to inspire partners and translate product and services propositions into meaningful business opportunities for partners is crucial. The ideal candidate should be a resourceful leader who can manage people within a growing organization while also driving multiple projects on their own. Qualifications include a minimum of 15 years marketing experience, preferably in a technology and/or consumer products related business. A business degree with a concentration in Business Management, Finance, or Marketing is ideal; MBA is preferred. Experience in the mobile phone industry and in mobility channels is also a plus but not required. Some travel is required.
