The Company is an Atlanta based construction related business with both domestic and international operations. The Company is privately held and employs approximately 150 people. The Company's revenues will approximate $18 million in 2008.
The Controller is a key member of the management team, providing leadership to the finance function and managing the various areas related to finance and accounting with a focus on operational efficiency. Specific responsibilities and requirements include:
* Manage the accounting, financial reporting, audit, tax, cash and working capital management, sub-contractor labor records, payroll, and insurance activities for the company
* Maintain systems necessary to maintain proper accounting records and ensure adequate accounting control and services, particularly with regard to construction contracts and revenue recognition
* Prepare a monthly financial reporting package which is timely, accurate and user-friendly for internal senior management and lenders. Oversee the collection of information relating to the preparation of all tax returns, including income taxes, payroll taxes and sales/use taxes
* Implement a budget process and make it an effective management tool through education of Company managers on financial issues having an impact on their budgets
EDUCATION: Bachelors degree in Accounting
EXPERIENCE:
* Experience in the building and construction industry including job cost accounting
* Experience with Timberline
* Strong accounting and reporting experience, including hands on monthly close activities and supervision
* Three years direct experience in financial statement preparation and internal control
