We are looking for a corporate tax professional ready to perform complex activities related to Tax Accounting and Tax Return preparation. You'll work closely with other members of the tax team on regulatory compliance issues.
Prepares federal and state tax returns or return adjustments; evaluates and applies state and federal tax law and regulations; identifies, documents and researches various tax issues; coordinates tax issue resolution with state taxing authorities.
May perform accounting for income taxes for regulatory, SEC and internal reporting requiring interfaces with company departments to accumulate necessary data for tax provision calculations, preparation of deferred taxes for separate companies, preparation and allocation of taxes to separate company and product lines and reconciliation of separate tax accounts.
Assists in tax research and special projects; evaluates and documents tax issues; interprets tax legislation and impact on various company transactions; interfaces with investment department regarding tax impact of portfolio holdings.
Performs various tasks associated with state income taxes to include administering and resolving state income tax audits and evaluating related legislation.
Participates in the development of new policies, procedures, and improved business processes as directed.
Works effectively within functional area, with team members, and with other resources to complete assigned work. Develops contacts and utilizes available resources within functional area and with external partners and peers.
Performs other duties as directed by supervisor.
Qualifications
Four-year degree and three years relevant experience required.
MBA, CMA, EA or CPA preferred.
Proficient in complex Excel spreadsheet tasks.
Proficient with data analysis tools.
Problem solving skills, strong negotiation skills
