Position Description
Defines, documents and interprets product requirements relevant to certification, configuration, data and data management and engineering processes. Develops, documents and implements plans and processes to ensure products meet technical, data, regulatory and company requirements and to maintain configuration control. Tracks and reports data to monitor adherence to regulatory, data configuration and contractual requirements; supports audits and reviews to ensure products meet requirements. Assists with development certification plans, integrated process architecture infrastructures, process models, product structure definitions and/or data requirements/data management processes. Works general direction. This position will be in support of the Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD) program. This product Lifecycle Management - Configuration Management (CM) specialist will report to the Manager of the GMD System Configuration Management team. Responsibilities of the CM specialist: have a solid understanding of configuration management principles in line with requirements of the skill code. Specific responsibilities within the GMD CM team, the CM specialist will be providing configuration management support to the GMD Leadership team during flight/ground test, review and/or assemble certification packages, execute the Approval and Clearance Notice process, reconcile As-Designed/As-Built records, execute the Temporary Design Departure (TDD) process, participate in program reviews providing CM status, and conduct product team/supplier audits to ensure adherence to Corporate/program procedural requirements. Implement and monitor incorporation of plans, evaluates compliance, and ensure the integrity of product configurations. Analyze progress, recommend corrective action, and provide input to performance assessment. Will frequently work with other specialists to coordinate program, project, and process issues.

Education and/or Experience

Ability to adjust priorities to multiple demands and unanticipated events as well as adjust decisions and actions to new information. Ability to be flexible in response to changing circumstances or conditions, be receptive to feedback and coaching, and be resilient after failures or disappointments. Also desired is familiarity with Missile Defense programs. This position will require some travel.
