Position Description
As a member of the National Team, the Systems Engineering Integration Planning C2BMC Focal will assist in the integration planning and phased implementation of the C2BMC Element for the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS), while representing the National Team Systems (NTS) program. The engineer will be responsible for detailed element knowledge to include current and proposed functionality, capabilities, predictive and assessed element performance and associated element architectures. Direct support will be provided during capability reviews, design assessments and configuration coordination events at both an element and system level leading to the successful fielding of an integrated BMDS. Additional support will be required to identify focus element functionality, capabilities and physical limitations related to their support of BMDS engagement sequences, RDT&E and operational architectures. This position will require travel to the National Capitol Region (NCR) area until the program transitions to HSV in the 2010 timeframe. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of System Engineering interface documentation, interface design and implementation specifications is required. Emphasis should be placed upon requirements development for interfaces supporting representative battle management and command and control functions and their associated information exchange requirements tied to specified performance metrics. Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify complex lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions. Evaluates customer/operational needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces. Performs various analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture. Performs analyses for safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance and other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure mission success. Develops, maintains and identifies improvements for the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes. Resolves cross-functional technical issues. Works under minimal direction.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates should have strong social and presentation skills and be able to perform in a fluid team environment. Also desired is familiarity of requirements management in DOORS and System Architect, or similar information architecture tools.
