Position Description
The successful candidate will be a self starter that is willing to work on a small team near Salt Lake City, Utah, supporting the Air Force A-10 program office. This multi-skill job is to support configuration and product data management activities as defined by the Air Force customer in support of the A-10 Wing Replacement Program (WRP). The main focus will to establish the configuration management requirements and processes to support the integration of the A-10 enhanced wing assembly with legacy Air Force systems. In addition, the candidate will perform basic configuration management / data management tasks within the Teamcenter Engineering product data manager. Detail tasks will include the following: 1. Assist government configuration management personnel to identify the best configuration item management approach necessary to manage the A-10 WRP mono-detail approach with the legacy A-10 multi-detail approach 2. Assist government personnel to manage the creation of new data and new drawing numbers from the A-10 WRP approach. Assist government personnel to write business practices to manage the creation and management of this data 3. Assist government personnel to set up the necessary IT infrastructure (Teamcenter Engineering & Oracle databases) to manage, sustain and modify the configuration management approach defined for the A-10 WRP 4. Assist government personnel to set up Teamcenter Engineering within government firewall and function properly in coordination with Boeing Integrated Defense Systems (IDS) on the A-10 WRP 5. Assist government personnel to set up additional government workflows to manage change of the 3-D and 2-D engineering data 6. Assist government personnel to set up interfaces between data managed within Teamcenter Engineering (TcEng) and the government engineering data management system (Weapon System Management Tool (WSMT)) to ensure configuration control of the data is synchronized 7. Assist government personnel to create automated procedures within TcEng/WSMT to coordinate S/N controlled items (A-10 WRP wings) and the aircraft (effectivity) they are installed on. Assist government personnel to create automated procedures within TcEng/WSMT to track flight hours on S/N controlled items, including installation on different aircraft with different flight hours 8. Assist government personnel to develop plan for notifying users of 3-D/2-D data when changes have been made to the data 9. Assist government personnel to write operating instructions on the validity of data and procedures for ensuring 3-D/2-D data is current 10. Mentoring and coordinating with configuration management personnel to transition and sustain the engineering data created under the A-10 WRP

Education and/or Experience
Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 9 or more years' experience, Master's with 7 or more years' experience or PhD with 4 or more years' experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Other Job related information
The candidates should have 10 years or more of configuration / product data management experience in an aerospace classification. Details skills and experience are as follows: 1. Proficient in configuration management of parts, assemblies and installation of aircraft engineering data 2. Proficient with using Teamcenter Engineering to create/manage engineering data and engineering related workflows 3. Proficient in developing, programming and managing schemas in Teamcenter Engineering 4. Familiar with Boeing IDS schema and methodologies for managing 3-D engineering data, FEA data and legacy 2-D data 5. Knowledgeable and proficient in creating and managing engineering change processes within Teamcenter Engineering 6. Experienced in using Oracle databases to manage data. Experienced with programming interfaces and collaborating data contained in Oracle based database systems with data contained in Teamcenter Engineering databases for management of engineering data 7. A broad background in Information Systems and working knowledge of product data manager backend systems The individual that responds to this position must we willing to work side by side on a daily basis with the customer. The candidate will be responsible for representing The Boeing Company to the customer and must have good communication skills to develop a good working rapport.
