John Deere Seeding is seeking an Operational Supply Management Specialist to execute supply base strategies for assigned commodities for the unit. In this position, you will:
Lead and manage the development and implementation of commodity strategies in coordination with the divisional strategic sourcing councils.
Define and integrate supply chains that support Product Delivery Process (PDP) and Order Fulfillment Process (OFP) activities to positively impact the financial and operational objectives.
Execute supplier rationalization activities to optimize supply base.
Build upon supply base optimization activities by working with selected suppliers to enhance the operational performance through Lean Manufacturing techniques and quality systems.
Execute SAP workflow activities in a timely manner.
Be responsible for returnable container program and through supplier collaboration to optimize the total acquisition cost.
Education
Bachelor's Degree in a Business/Management, Engineering/Technology or Supply Management/Logistics discipline preferred or equivalent experience.
CPM or CPIM certification a plus.
Required Skills and Experience
Strong interpersonal communications and negotiation skills with the ability to influence others
Proficiency in MS Office and internet functions. (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Experience in a Supply Management discipline areas such as: purchasing; supplier integration, supplier development or logistics.
Understanding of manufacturing processes and operations.
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (Up to 30%).
Self directed with good time management and organization skills.
Demonstrated team work and leadership skills.
Desired Skills and Experience
Knowledge of MS Access, Project and Visio.
Prior project management experience.
Working knowledge and experience applying a supplier quality system.
Knowledge of Deere Production Systems (DPS) and Deere Product Quality Systems (DPQS).
Familiarity with SAP (Materials Management module).
Familiarity with logistics.
