John Deere Waterloo is seeking a variable shift Manufacturing Engineer to support the 7000 DT assembly area. In this position you will:
Direct daily support of the assembly processes, machine and equipment trouble shooting with resolution along with the testing operations for the Small Row Crop transaxle assembly line.
Provide assembly methods and documentation to the Drivetrain assembly lines.
Establish routings, methods, layouts, tools, costs, methods documentation, quality plans and labor standards for revisions to current operations and/or new parts or programs of limited scope.
Procure assembly tools to support a safe and quality assembly process.
Support layout changes to support production or design changes.
Work with Continuous Improvement teams to improve safety, quality, delivery and efficiency.
Work with multifunctional teams to implement design engineering and other process changes.
Develop and implement plans to support lean manufacturing through the Deere Production System of limited scope. Design operations layouts to improve material flow and material presentation.
Education
Bachelor's degree in an Engineering/Technical discipline or equivalent work experience.
Required Skills and Experience
Strong understanding of Manufacturing Engineering principles.
Knowledge of manufacturing and/or distribution processes, quality, tooling, tool design, total preventative maintenance and facilities.
Strong project management skills.
Understanding of Lean Manufacturing.
Desired Skills and Experience
Experience with Hydraulic, Pneumatic and Electrical Testing Equipment.
Experience in one or more related engineering areas: industrial, production, methods, reliability, design, manufacturing, warehousing and distribution, quality.
Experience with line and process design, material presentation, cycles of imbalance and visual management tools.
