John Deere Agriculture Equipment is seeking a Test Engineer to be responsible for development and execution of complex test procedures that evaluate capabilities of machines and components to meet product specifications and related acceptance criteria that lead to a high level of customer satisfaction and product quality goals. In this position, you will:
Have extensive interaction with the design group and external suppliers, and intimate knowledge of testing procedures and facilities/capabilities inside and external to John Deere.
Collaborate with the design engineers in defining test activities and acceptance criteria and develops the test procedures that verify and validate product performance.
Represent the Product Verification & Validation group in design reviews and FMEA's and present to sprayer management data reviews of completed tests.
Use the Enterprise Product Verification & Validation Management System (V2Net) to develop and execute tests. Oversee lab, performance and durability testing activities including the efforts of the lab technicians and mechanics in the execution of project activities.
Education
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Ag Engineer or 6+ years of equivalent experience. Required Skills and Experience
2+ years of Product or Test engineering.
Experience with test procedures, related software and programs. Examples include but are not limited to lab and field stress tests, durability tests, MTS, load measurements, HALT, EMI and some structural analysis.
Experience using data acquisition equipment.
Experience with hydraulic, electrical and mechanical equipment.
Willingness to travel up to 25%, both in the U.S. and Internationally.
Desired Skills and Experience
An understanding and use of ProE is desirable.
