Position Description
The Maritime Systems business unit Lead Mechanical System Analysis Engineer candidate will generate and oversee the analysis of complex subsea mechanical systems including mechanisms, electro mechanical and fluid powered actuation systems. The candidate will be required to independently conduct mechanical analysis of these mechanical systems as well as provide technical review of co-worker analysis and techniques. The subsea systems frequently require exceptional ingenuity and creativity to solve complex problems in the harsh, ocean environment. The candidate will also be required to analyze Unmanned Undersea Vehicle (UUV) Launch and recovery systems to be installed on Navy surface and sub-surface vessels. The candidate shall be able to perform detailed analysis and communicate the information to the customer. The candidate shall have experience in performing detailed analysis. The candidate should also have experience with integrating and testing the mechanical systems. The candidate shall plan the tasks necessary to analyze the system. The candidate will act independently to resolve issues and provide innovative solutions to challenges in the mechanical analysis of subsea environment. The candidate will interface directly with customer experts in the underwater field to demonstrate technical credibility and enhance customer relations. The candidate will work within Integrated Product Team (IPT) organization and simultaneously support multiple program areas. The candidate will report directly to the appropriately assigned Maritime Systems Chief Segment Engineer (CSE) and to senior management regarding project status and design reports. The candidate will provide fabrication documentation as required and technical review co workers systems. The candidate will also provide technology recommendations to top management for planning new areas of technical research. The candidate shall also provide training, guidance and coaching others.

Education and/or Experience
Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's 14 or more years' experience, Master's with 12 or more years' experience or PhD with 9 or more years' experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Maritime Systems is the center of excellence in undersea systems engineering, structures, guidance and navigation, user interface and embedded software development for command and control and we perform a full range of system integration and testing. Our products form the foundation for the Long Term Mine Reconnaissance Systems (LMRS) and Echo Ranger. The Maritime Systems is located at the Boeing Anaheim office. In addition, the candidate shall support testing at the customers test sites as required.
