JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are hiring an energetic, outgoing, responsible individual to work as a Tour Manager/Driver for a mobile tour program which will be traveling across the Northwest building brand awareness and offering consumers the opportunity to sample product.
This is a terrific opportunity for an independent, self-motivated person looking for a dynamic work environment with travel and mass consumer interaction. This is a contract position lasting from February - July 2008 OR February through November 2008 (6 month and/or 10 month position available).
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Drive Mobile Vehicle (tow vehicle pulling a 28' gooseneck trailer) to and from events.
* Act as event "host" by managing the experience consumers receive when they visit the mobile vehicle.
* Create and serve made-to-order product samples to customers.
* Engage the public to sample product and educate customers about the brand.
* Restock supplies and all expendables for product sampling.
* Maintain tow vehicle and trailer (interior/exterior washing and cleaning, oil changes, etc.).
* Supervise Assistant Tour Manager and Mobile Tour Field Staff (approximately two Field Staff per event).
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Complete event recaps and other paperwork on a daily and/or weekly basis.
* Load vehicle for safe transportation of tour elements.
* Interface with local and national media to promote the event and sponsor messaging.
* Liaise between clients, venues and consumers - serve as the direct, day-to-day contact for all event communications, both internal and external.
* Work with local Store Managers and mktgpartners Client Lead on execution of events.
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Must be able to work and travel full time.
* Current, clean Department of Motor Vehicles record.
* Commercial Drivers License Class A required.
* Experience driving a large truck pulling a 28' trailer, including positioning it onsite.
* Bachelor's degree preferred.
* 3-5 years of event management experience, preferably touring.
* Organizational skills and attention to detail required.
* Strong communication and computer skills a must.
* A professional attitude with terrific problem solving skills.
* Reliable team member who understands the big picture and handles all aspects (including paperwork) in a timely fashion.
* Proactive. One who uses previous experiences and foresight to dispel most problems before they arise.
* Ability to lift/carry more than 30-40lbs.
* Live in the Northwestern United States area (preferred but not required).
* Candidate will be drug tested.
